About Us

Te Tiriti O Waitangi
We acknowledge the Treaty of Waitangi as one of the guiding documents for education in Aoteoroa, New Zealand. We ensure we do this through sharing local legends/myths, celebrating cultural days, and promoting te reo māori language through our everyday practices and interactions. Each room has an individual Treaty and display childrens pepeha on our wall.
At Bambinos we offer a loving, caring, and nurturing environment, with a home away from home feeling. This enables children to feel safe and secure with a sense of belonging. We believe in working collaboratively with parents/whānau to provide the best care and learning that extends on children’s interest, strengths, dispositions and parent/whānau aspirations.
At Bambinos each child is respected as an individual whose potential is recognised and supported according to his/her strengths, interests and abilities. We believe play is fundamental to children's learning. This allows them to explore, ask questions, invent, discover, build relationships and make sense of new ideas.

The smaller class sizes keep the atmosphere calm & happy.

Vision
Tatou Wawata
To build positive foundations for a lifelong love of learning for our tamariki (children), through strengthening our whanaungatanga (relationships) with our families and community to ensure that we are actively engaging in respectful working relationships.
Mission Statement
Te Kaupapa O Bambinos
Our aim is to work in partnership with parents and whānau (families) to provide an extension of the home environment. We are proud to offer a nurturing and caring environment and provide additional education and social experiences. Love, care, trust, and respect are paramount in the foundation of our inclusive environment here at Bambinos.
We believe in the four broad principles of the early childhood curriculum, Te Whāriki (2017) and the strands and goals, which arise from these principles.
We embrace and promote whanaungatanga (relationships) and acknowledge manaakitanga (respect, care of others) to support children, teachers, and all families to become aware of our culturally diverse community.
We believe in guiding and facilitating children’s learning in an inclusive environment.
We believe that children are active learners. We provide a stimulating, encouraging, challenging, and literacy rich environment. Our goal is to provide an environment where our tamariki (children) learn through establishing trusting and positive relationships with other children, teachers, parents, family/whānau and the community.

Moving cities with your 1 year old is a challenge in itself but Bambinos made our move just that much easier.

Te Whāriki
Principle 1 Empowerment | Whakamana
Early childhood curriculum empowers the child to learn and grow.
Mā te whāriki e whakatō te kaha ki roto i te mokopuna, ki te ako, kia pakari ai tana tipu.
Principle 2 Holistic development | Kotahitanga
Early childhood curriculum reflects the holistic way children learn and grow
Mā te whāriki e whakaata te kotahitanga o ngā whakahaere katoa mō te ako a te mokopuna, mō te tipu a te mokopuna.
Principle 3 Family and community | Whānau tangata
The wider world of family and community is an integral part of early childhood curriculum
Me whiri mai te whānau, te hapū, te iwi, me tauiwi, me ō rātou wāhi nohonga, ki roto i te whāriki, hei āwhina, hei tautoko i te akoranga, i te whakatipuranga o te mokopuna.
Principle 4 Relationships | Ngā hononga
Children learn through responsive and reciprocal relationships with people, places and things.
Mā roto i ngā piringa, i ngā whakahaere i waenganui o te mokopuna me te katoa, e whakatō te kaha ki roto i te mokopuna ki te ako.
Strands:
STRAND 1 Wellbeing | Mana atua
The health and wellbeing of the child are protected and nurtured.
Ko tēnei te whakatipuranga o te tamaiti i roto i tōna oranga nui, i runga hoki i tōna mana motuhake, mana atuatanga.
STRAND 2 Belonging | Mana whenua
Children and their families feel a sense of belonging.
Ko te whakatipuranga tēnei o te mana ki te whenua, te mana tūrangawaewae, me te mana toi whenua o te tangata.
STRAND 3 Contribution | Mana tangata
Opportunities for learning are equitable, and each child’s contribution is valued.
Ko te whakatipuranga tēnei o te kiritau tangata i roto i te mokopuna kia tū māia ai ia ki te manaaki, ki te tuku whakaaro ki te ao.
STRAND 4 Communication | Mana reo
The languages and symbols of children’s own and other cultures are promoted and protected.
Ko te whakatipuranga tēnei o te reo. Mā roto i tēnei ka tipu te mana tangata me te oranga nui.
STRAND 5 Exploration | Mana aotūroa
The child learns through active exploration of the environment.
Ko te whakatipuranga tēnei o te mana rangahau, me ngā mātauranga katoa e pā ana ki te aotūroa me te taiao.
